2019 Honda Jazz rendered – next-gen reportedly 30 kg lighter, to get a 1.0 litre turbo or hybrid powertrain
A Japanese magazine has rendered what it thinks the next-generation Honda Jazz will possibly look like. Aside from updated looks, the new Jazz (or Fit if you’re Japanese) is said to be fitted with new engines as well. The rejuvenated fourth-gen Jazz will be launched in June 2019, according to the magazine.
Focusing on the new looks, the rendering reveals a very Civic-esque front fascia, no doubt a move to standardise the design language across Honda’s vehicle line-up. The new “Solid Wing Face” is prominent here, with a large silver element on the grille. Flanking the new grille are a pair of sharper LED headlamps. Subtle changes can be seen on the bumper as well.
The magazine also stated that the car will be up to 30 kg lighter than the current Jazz, although it did not disclose how those weight savings will come about. However, the more important changes take place under the hood.
Powering the new Jazz is said to be a new 1.0 litre direct-injected three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which could be sourced from the European-market Civic (127 hp and 200 Nm). Another option here is a hybrid powertrain, comprising a 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine with Honda’s i-MMD system.
Peut être en Europe en 2020 notez qu'il abandonne la boite à double embrayage pour Multi Mode Transmission commune à l'accord hybrid (pour la version hybrid)
