Hi gang,
At 146,000km and six years three weeks, my 2003 1.3 i-DSI manual has
received a new battery.
On cold mornings it was starting to struggle to turn the engine past its
first compression. As most car batteries last about five winters, and my
Jazz is entering its seventh, I decided to listen to the car, and
proactively replace the battery.
The local car parts place wanted NZ$135 for the 330CCA battery, but my
trusted local Honda dealer wanted only NZ$101 - about US$50 - so I bought
that one and fitted it last night.
The engine turns over fantastically well now :-)
So, in six years and 146,000km the following are the only things that have
needed replacing, apart from standard service items:
Engine PCV valve (warranty)
Right rear wheel bearing (warranty)
Gearbox input bearing (warranty)
Clutch plate and bearing (I paid for them to be proactively done when the
gearbox was off)
Three lightbulbs
Regards,
Adrian
