C'est étonnant cette offensive de moteurs turbo (pas forcément downsizés d'ailleurs ... des 1.5 et 2.0 pour la Jazz  :o ) alors que cela n'avait pas été annoncé dans la stratégie "Earth Dreams".

The currently camouflaged car is being put through its paces as part of an extensive testing process taking place in Europe and Japan, ahead of its much anticipated launch in 2015.

The Civic Type R will be the first model in Europe to have one of Honda’s all-new VTEC TURBO engines from Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology range. This 2 litre, direct injection, 4-cyclinder turbo engine is expected to have class-leading output in excess of 280ps and will be EURO 6 compliant.

Speaking during recent testing at the Nurburgring, Germany, Honda’s WTCC driver Gabriele Tarquini, gave his first driving impressions ‘The car and the characteristics of the car were fantastic. I was really impressed by the power and the torque of the engine but also by the set-up they achieved…The car is very pointed on the front and very fast to change direction’. ‘This car is very close to my racing car and you can feel very well the DNA of Type R.’

Aie ca craint un peu si Honda se met a faire des moteurs turbo !! Fini les moteurs pour 300000km sans rien toucher ?
en tout cas la typeR avec 280ch ...ouch !

Vu que le 1.5 i-VTEC fait déjà 120 ch, je suis curieux de savoir quelle puissance développe le 1.5 turbo ?

La Jazz n'aura pas droit au 2.0 turbo.

en tout cas la typeR avec 280ch ...ouch !

Pas vraiment le choix si Honda veut aller chercher les Megane RS, Golf R ou encore Astra OPC.

Le 1,5l fait 160ch apparement....Euh j'espere qu'ils mettent pas ca dans la Jazz !! faut quand meme pas exagerer ca reste une petite urbaine avant tout ( je sais la 208 gti est encore plus puissante tout comme la clio4 mais c'est des voitures pour kéké  >:D , pas la Jazz svp !)

Les allemands sont allés tester la nouvelle Jazz à Tochigi Japon, un mulet Type-R et aussi un petit véhicule électrique ressemblant à la Renault Twizy, le MC-S.

Il y aura 3 moteurs turbo essence. Le premier est un 1.0 de 3 cylindres, le 2e un 1.5 de 4 cylindres et le 3e un 2.0 (pour la Type-R). Ils ont roulé les 3 moteurs et disent du bien du 1.0 et du 2.0 mais trouvent le 1.5 CVT  plutôt faiblard...

L'hybride  (boîte à double embrayage, 7 vitesses) passe à env. 140cv (110 cv + 30 cv électrique) et batteries lithium-ion.

Honda Develops VTEC TURBO, Direct Injection Gasoline Turbo Engine That Achieves Class-leading Output and Environmental Performance


TOKYO, Japan, November 19, 2013 - Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that it has newly developed VTEC TURBO, a direct injection gasoline turbo engine most suitable for small-to-medium-sized vehicles. The VTEC TURBO is a new addition to the Earth Dreams Technology, the next-generation powertrain technologies which achieve both the fun of driving and excellent fuel economy at a high level.

With the application of variable valve motion technology such as Honda's unique VTEC along with direct injection turbocharging with highly-fluidized combustion and a thorough reduction in engine friction, this engine achieves class-leading output and environmental performance, while downsizing engine displacement.

Along with existing hybrid technology and diesel engine, the VTEC TURBO that features displacement size variation of 2.0 L, 1.5 L and 1.0 L will be adopted by Honda's future global models in accordance with characteristics of each model and needs of local customers.

Lineup of direct injection gasoline turbo engines
■2.0 L 4-cylinder direct injection gasoline turbo engine
High output and high response were achieved by VTEC, a high-output turbocharger, direct injection technology, and a high-performance cooling system. This is an innovative high-performance engine that realizes the maximum output of more than 280 HP as well as high environmental performance that complies with the EURO 6, European emission standards which will become effective in 2014.

■1.5 L 4-cylinder direct injection gasoline turbo engine / 1.0 L 3-cylinder direct injection gasoline turbo engine
These are next-generation compact engines that combine a base engine with a newly designed framework, the VTEC variable valve train system with thoroughly reduced friction, a turbocharger with a low moment of inertia and high responsiveness, and direct injection technology to achieve good balance between high output and torque, above those of conventional naturally-aspirated engines, along with excellent fuel economy.

Honda will provide the MC-β for separate field tests started this month, jointly conducted with Kumamoto Prefecture, Saitama City, and Miyakojima City in Japan. In these field tests, Honda and each partner will explore desirable usage patterns and needs for micro-sized mobility products as a part of a social system that will help promote city planning and address issues related to transportation of people in each community.

Key features of MC-β
In the pursuit of Honda's philosophy for automobile design that puts the first priority on space for people, the MC-β provides cabin space that fits two adults comfortably as well as utility space inside the micro-sized body through adoption of an "offset seat layout."

The micro-sized body, which is approximately 90 cm shorter than the body of a typical mini-vehicle, realized a minimum turning radius as short as 3.3 m to achieve outstanding ease-of-handling. Moreover, the MC-β features nimble driving performance unique to Honda EVs, offering a comfortable drive in a wide range of road conditions.

The pipe frame body, which represents the application of motorcycle technology, realized a lightweight and yet rigid body.

The use of a plastic outer panel made possible a bold exterior design, embodying a friendly design loved by people.

An AC100V/AC200V charging system was adopted to shorten the charging time. The MC-β can be charged by using a conventional, public EV charging stand.

The MC-β is scheduled to be exhibited at the SMART MOBILITY CITY 2013.

Honda will continue to be proactive in proposing next-generation mobility products, which expand the joy and fun of mobility while minimizing the environmental footprint, and considering the suitable city plans for each community.

* One of the motorcycle categories in Europe. An EV in this category must weigh 400 kg or less excluding the weight of the battery and have output of 15 kW or less.

Sous le capot du Urban SUV, ça devrait le faire  ;)

Selon cet article :

le  1.5 remplacera le 1.8 des Civic.
et on peut imaginer que le 3 cylindres 1.0 remplacerai le 1.3 des Jazz/entrée de gamme Civic.
