DETROIT, Michigan, U.S.A., January 14, 2013 - Honda today exhibited the world premiere of an all-new compact SUV concept model, the "URBAN SUV CONCEPT," at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan (Press days: January 14-15 / Public days: January 19-27).

The URBAN SUV CONCEPT is a concept vehicle for a global model. This model features sporty and dynamic design unique to an SUV, while also offering a spacious cabin realized by the Honda-original center-tank layout with high functionality. The exterior design was developed featuring the sharp and sporty character lines of a coupe while maintaining the dynamism of a crossover model to express an emotional and sensual design.

The all-new compact SUV model based on this concept will go on sale in Japan by the end of 2013, followed by sequential introductions in other countries around the world. In North America, Honda plans to begin production of the compact SUV at the new plant in Mexico, which will become operational in spring 2014, and begin sales in the U.S. before the end of 2014.

Featuring Earth Dreams Technology, Honda's next generation powertrain series that greatly enhances both driving performance and fuel efficiency at a high level, the all-new compact SUV will be available with three types of powertrains - gasoline, hybrid and diesel - evolving a product lineup which accommodates the unique characteristics of each region on a global basis.

Honda plans to sell more than 1.5 million units annually of the three "Global Compact Series" models, namely the Fit, the City and the all-new compact SUV, which utilize the Honda-original center-tank layout, by the end of 2016. Starting with the Global Compact Series, Honda will pursue a transformation of its global operations to promptly respond to the needs of customers around the world and evolve models with the best specifications for each region at affordable prices.

Il sera donc dispo en essence, diesel et hybride. Cela va en ravir plus d'un...

Par contre pas de précision concernant l'europe. Etant donné qu'il sera commercialisé fin 2013 au Japon on peut s'attendre a ce qu'il arrive chez nous au printemps ou en été 2014.

Pas de précision non plus au sujet de la transmission 2WD/4WD....

Si on table sur Europe mi-2015, et qu'il sort chez nous en hybride 4WD, ce pourrait être un digne successeur de l'Auris ...

Je pense aussi ... la commercialisation aux US est dictée par l'ouverture de la nouvelle usine au Mexique qui ne sera opérationelle qu'au printemps 2014.

Pour l'instant, il ne me semble pas qu'ils aient parlé du fait que ce modèle serait construit à Swindon donc il est fort probable que nous soyions fourni par le Japon. Il y aura certainement un délai par rapport à la commercialisation au Japon mais je pense que pour l'été/automne 2014 il devrait être chez nous.

Oui sympa mme si je suis pas totalement fan de la "grosse" face avant. Le concept de modularite de la Jazz lui donne une gros argument par rapport aux actuels suv compact souvent tres etriqué dedans ( le juke est une plaisanterie par exemple).
Mais quid des dimensions? Je trouve que ce Honda fait bien 4,25m de long non?

Comme ils parlent de 3 moteurs (essence, hybride et diesel) à mon avis seront dispo:

1.6 i-DTEC de 120cv pour le diesel
1.5 de 127cv au total pour l'hybride
1.8 i-VTEC de 150cv pour l'essence
